PRP Hair Rejuvenation

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy stimulates hair growth through a multifaceted approach. When PRP is injected into the scalp, it releases a concentrated mixture of growth factors, including platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), among others. These growth factors promote cell proliferation, angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels), and tissue regeneration, creating a conducive environment for hair follicle regeneration and growth.

PRP therapy also helps improve blood circulation to the scalp, delivering oxygen, nutrients, and growth-promoting factors to the hair follicles. It also exerts anti-inflammatory effects, reducing scalp inflammation associated with certain hair loss conditions. By prolonging the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle and activating dormant hair follicle stem cells, PRP therapy supports the regeneration of hair follicles, leading to thicker, healthier hair growth over time.

We always start with a consultation for PRP treatment to determine how many sessions would be recommended.

What to expect during your appointment:

After completing necessary forms, we will take photos for your chart before we start the treatment. You will then meet with a provider who will discuss your concerns and will do a consultation with a recommendation of treatment plan. At each session, we will draw your blood and spin it in the centrifuge to extract the plasma, which we will then re-inject into your scalp. You may experience some bleeding, tenderness, and mild discomfort after treatment, which typically resolve within a few days. We ask that you avoid coffee, alcohol, and blood thinners (i.e. aspirin) prior to treatment.
